Gauntlet of Get

Second week after being poisoned is awkward for Jannie. White cells take a dumper and her endurance goes with them. Not awful, but don't need tie-downs to make the Energizer bunny rest. Only a quarter through and already pining for the light at the end of the tunnel. Marina mates will soon be departing for Indonesia and we hope they have as much fun and adventure as we did, but we'll miss them and wish we could go too.
Love to get toys (defined as pretty much anything). Jan bought a Magic Bullet blender, new pans and earbuds so good that balance of crew was forced, forced I say, to get some too. Sound is nearly as good as Bose noise cancelling and they don't fall out. We never buy each other gifts and that, contrary to popular culture, is a good thing, for among other excellent reasons, to avoid accumulating crap that neither wants very much and has no room for. However, after a voicing of interest she just bought me a Fitbit Charge 2 heart rate/fitness wristband. Any time, day or night, I can check that my heart is still operating. Probably wouldn't be a first indication, but comforting nonetheless. Can also track levels and sum of activity, calories burned, sleep stages and a pant-load of stuff that only a rabid fitness freak would have a clue what to do with. Everything is synced to a smart phone so one can easily be reminded just what a shiftless slacker he is. Toys.
Getting delivery of playthings in Oz can, however, be a chore. Earbuds, for example, were shipped from the UK on 23 May. Arrived in country just a few days later to be sucked into the Auspost black hole. Seller couldn't track once here. After a couple of queries eBay CYA'd by changing expected delivery to 6 July. Probably a coincidence they arrived today after formal inquiry #12100615 entered yesterday. Winch stems have languished somewhere in UPS Neverland for a week after more than 25% extortion paid to and subsequent release by Border Force, i.e. customs. At least we have plenty of time to sit and spin while waiting.
