Twelve days after shakedown by customs and subsequent release of winch stems, they have yet to arrive. Oh sure, UPS (Sydney) is, according to Google Maps, 3984 km by road from slip A21, but 10 days seems a skosh excessive even for... OK, already delved into the shortcomings of Oz in this area and there is little rush, but it would be nice to get the boat back together. Bases, shafts and motors are installed and winches can be operational in about a New York minute (slight exaggeration) as soon as parts arrive. No worries, as there are many unrelated projects that aren't getting done instead.
So, is everyone enjoying American politics? Fun huh? Surely you were aware how amusing it would be when Donald assumed the mantle and Congress returned to session. We have a leader without a superego driven by his id to protect an over-inflated yet fragile ego and a feckless legislature which, after 7 years of talking about little else but Obamacare's demise, seems intent on merely tarting up the crumbling carcass to make it potentially worse. As an aside, the Supreme court just ruled in Murr v Wisconsin against Fifth Amendment property rights. Serious you say? Not at all. Entertainment.
With the current polarization in politics, one might think that most people are convinced that their tribe (clan, group, party, wing, cult, gang, faction, cabal, union) is guiding their perspectives in the best of all possible directions as righteously expounded by them and conscientiously advanced by their government representatives and further that if you don't agree you're evil. Be advised, however, that a politicians essential occupation (yes, including your very own and not just everyone else's) consists in creating turds, then convincing you that you will be getting the clean end.
