Pigs at Big Majors Spot
Sunday 24 March 2013
Apparently Berkie at Isles General Store scraped up something or other to fill our bottle and we're full of gas. In a related note, we also have propane. Bike tour of North and South Staniel Cays resulted in climbing a number of short steep hills. Jan loves them, mentioning that fact at each one (pretty sure that's what she really meant). And getting apprehended trespassing on a private estate at Pelican Point. As wife/partner/close friend of owner was smiling and no weapons were brandished the experience seemed to go rather well. Not completely sure due being preoccupied trying not to stare at her technically augmentated INDs (infant nutrition devices).
She suggested we attend costume party at SCYC that night celebrating James Bond (007 is a big deal as Thunderball Cave was the sight of underwater cave scene from that movie). We demurred deciding instead to dine on the boat then go over to Big Majors Spot to feed the tame, feral (oxymoron?) pigs. A couple swam up to the dink, squealed and opened their mouths so we could fling carrots in. Don't think the pork chops on our breath was obvious as they remained friendly if a tad insistent.
Another beautiful sail (just hate this.. where's the adventure, the challenge, the... what's that Jan? oh right... never mind) to Warderick Wells, supremely confident that one of the always high demand park moorings which, incidentally, have the only S to SW protection in the area would be available on a day with strong S to SW wind. By holding on carefully we hardly notice the boat rocking and bucking at Emerald Rock anchorage.
