Run for a Cure

Nine of us joined a few thousand others in a walk and run to support breast cancer awareness and screening in Trinidad. It was a five kilometer (3.1 mile) course around a park and at the edge of the zoo and botanical garden. We started at 3:30 and we were so fortunate to have clouds and a bit of a breeze. Before the start we were coached though a warm up. It was pretty funny to look around and see a few thousand women jumping and hopping about in a muddy cricket filed. The 98% humidity went up a few points as we crowed up for the start.
We were a team called "Cruisers for a Cure" and we all finished and had a good time. Hunter and Don came with us for support and I was very glad to see Hunter at the finish line. I ran at a pace that I could sustain in the heat. At the water breaks I poured my water on my torso and arms to cool off. I carried a bandanna with a Trinidad flag.
