Watermelon and sweet corn

It is always a bit overwhelming to come to the states and go shopping. There is SO MUCH STUFF in the stores. The choice of brands and sizes is mind boggling. We have become accustomed to small stores with a modest selection of goods. Even the large grocery stores in the Caribbean do not have aisles filled with the same products- like one aisle of paper towels.
It seems like consumer gluttony.
It is always nice to visit the states at the end of the summer. We enjoyed a week in the Berkshire Mountains in Massachusetts visiting my parents and helping them with their move back to Florida. We enjoyed the sweet corn so fresh it was wet from the dew in the fields. My Dad had is "Hunter Do" list (much like a "Honey do" list. And Hunter repaired windows, light fixtures and a toilet.
We are back in Raleigh, NC doing our errands and doctor visits and living with Brooke, Hunter's sister. It is great to have a home base in the states and we are very grateful that Brooke puts up with us for weeks at a time.
We are enjoying early apple season, winter squash, the end of summer fruit like peaches and plums and how about this watermelon!
