Hunter and I just finished dinner in our new house. We are sitting on camp chairs and tonight we will sleep on our camping pads and sleeping bags. Yes, we just bought a house in northwestern North Carolina. We are in a rural area with few neighbors with a sunny grassy field on one side and brushy forest on the other.
Our house is 20 minutes from Asheville, NC, a mecca for art and music. We have friends in the area and really feel at home here. We started out just looking to see if we liked the area and found it very much a place that feels like home to both of us.

I know curious minds are wondering about our plans so I will tell you…

The boat is in Trinidad and we plan to sail her up north to sell her. We look forward to our last lap of the eastern Caribbean and returning to nw North Carolina in the spring or summer. Yes, of course we will miss the boat and the wonderful cruising lifestyle, but it has been our habitat to change our lifestyle and environment every 4-7 years, so by that measure we are overdue for a change. Most of all we will miss our cruising friends.
