Firstly a very enthusiastic welcome to our brand new grand daughter Eve Elizabeth who was born in Sydney yesterday evening at approx 2000 hours. Erin and bub very well, a quick labour and of course the grandparents overjoyed. We will meet Eve next week when we fly back to Sydney for a visit.
We left Sid Harbour for Nara Inlet after a quick run of an hour and anchored in Refuge Bay with 2 other Cats. We enjoyed the company of Lin and Barb of Lazi Days, a 40' Fontaine Pajot, who live in Adelaide but keep their Cat permanently in The Whitsundays. We were still experiencing heavy gusts especially at night however the Manson Supreme anchor is doing a sterling job and once set it doesn't budge even with the strongest gusts. We had 2 nights in Nara Inlet before having a great sail across to Double Bay East on the mainland, a very pretty and comfortable anchorage.
Today we refuelled at Abel Point marina & took on water before picking up a mooring in front of the Whitsunday Sailing Club, at only $10.00/night a real bargain. We again met up with the crew from "Lunacy", a family from Melbourne travelling in their 45' yacht and then acquaintances travelling in their Winnebargo - what a small world! So tonight it's off to dinner at the sailing club to compare sailing Australia versus driving Australia.
