Sometimes it is hard to sleep at night. Anticipation can be an energizing force, but needs to well channeled. In my case, in particular, this means considering all of the "what if" scenarios in order to be prepared and to be safe. Once considered, though, I need to learn to put the "what if" notions away before they become worries. I have been practicing this discipline as Sheryl and I plan and pack for our trip down from Annapolis aboard
Queste.
We believe that we are all set and will be driving north this evening. Tomorrow I have to work at client site in Gaithersburg, Maryland. During the day, Sheryl will prepare the boat for our departure. This will be a bit challenging, considering the steep hill behind Wolfgang's home which leads down to the water. I wish I could be there to help; however, I have no doubt that Sheryl has more than enough strength, stamina, and downright determination to get the job done. In fact, considering her organizational disposition and the adrenaline-fuel of anticipation, I highly expect that everything will be in order by the time I arrive at the boat after work. (no pressure, though, Hon)
As long as the weather gods permit, we plan to cast off the docklines at first light on Saturday morning. At present, NOAA is predicting...
.SAT...NW WINDS 10 KT. WAVES 2 FT.
.SAT NIGHT...NW WINDS 10 KT...BECOMING SW AFTER MIDNIGHT. WAVES 1 FT.
.SUN...S WINDS 10 KT... WAVES 1 FT. A CHANCE OF SHOWERS.
.MON...NW WINDS 10 TO 15 KT. WAVES 1 FT.
Stay tuned as we embark on this mini-adventure. It should be interesting, educational, and (above-all) fun!
