Settling Into Social Circles in Culebra
13-Apr-2008, Dewey, Culebra, Puerto Rico

CURRENT LOCATION: Tied to a mooring ball near Cayo Pirata, in Ensenada Honda, Culebra, Puerto Rico

Saturday was pizza night aboard Prudence. Joined by Jan (from s/v Irise) and Mark & Terrie (owners of Palmetto Guesthouse), we enjoyed two large pizza's from the local pizza joint, Heather's, and a great evening of conversation. The fact that the dinghy ride to transport Mark & Terrie back to shore occurred well after our usual bedtime would suggest that a good time was had by all.

Sunday morning we attended our first Sunday breakfast at Mamacita's with some of the harbor's more regular boat-based residents. In addition to D & Don from Southern Cross, breakfast attendees included David & Sue from Doodlemon, Jonny & Chris from Kiva, Tony & Suzanne from Gabra, and Les from Mangariva. The good food and good conversation, combined with the fact that we can dinghy through the canal practically right up to the breakfast table, will likely bring us back next Sunday morning.

We are starting to feel very 'at home' here in Culebra. With each day we grow ever more contented with the fact that we have decided to stay here for a few months. This is what we went cruising for, dear Reader, unlimited time in Paradise.
