The crew of
Prudence has re-established the liveaboard routine. Unfortunately, even here in Paradise, it is cold and flu season. Over the past several days, first I, then Sheryl, have suffered from symptoms ranging from nausea to congestion. Fortunately, the Christmas tradewinds have kicked in for the most part, and the breeze through the boat has kept us otherwise comfortable.
During our recent land-based sojourn, we had access to a high-speed internet connection (at least, higher than what we have here in the harbor). I used the occasion to fill my hard drive with TV shows and movies. Such entertainment helps to while away the hours when one is under the weather, especially when the eyes become strained and less inclined to read a book.
One of the shows I acquired was Red Dwarf, a British sci-fi comedy which aired from 1988 through 1999. I never watched the show, so it is all new to me. Although it is certainly not sophisticated, from a sci-fi perspective, I have enjoyed the first three seasons. I especially like the lyrics for the theme song:
Its cold outside,
There's no kind of atmosphere,
I'm all alone,
More or less.
Let me fly,
Far away from here,
Fun, fun, fun,
In the sun, sun, sun.
I want to lie,
Shipwrecked and comotoase,
Drinking fresh,
Mango juice,
Goldfish shoals,
Nibbling at my toes,
Fun, fun, fun,
In the sun, sun, sun,
Fun, fun, fun,
In the sun, sun, sun.
Well, I am off to class now. This evening parent-teacher conferences are scheduled, so it will be a long afternoon/evening at Abbie's School. We are thinking about moving the big boat back out to Dakity soon, so stay tuned for updates from a slightly different location.
