We are settling in nicely to the routine here in Jolly Harbour. Good food, wonderful vistas, and a quiet anchorage leave us quite contented.
The other day, as we were putting along in the dinghy on our way back to the boat from a trip to shore, we spotted a familiar boat coming into Jolly Harbour.
Christian aboard s/v Christa was pointed toward the customs dock. We swung by and offered our single-handing friend assistance coming into the dock.
It has been nice to have a familiar face in anchorage. We met Chris in the Turks & Caicos, and crossed paths again in Luperon and Culebra. You tend to form bonds with those you have suffered through the 'Thorny Path' with, and it is with a heavy heart that we will be waving goodbye to him tomorrow. Chris is continuing on south and eventually west, while we are headed home. Unfortunately, this will be the last of our happy chance meetings. We wish him all the best in his sailing endeavors, and hope to read about his meeting the perfect First Mate in a not too distant anchorage.
