BIG News Items for the Crew of Prudence!!
04-Jun-2009, Little Creek Marina, Norfolk, VA, USA
[Shameless plug:... Subscriptions for those unable to pick up a copy locally are available for the approximate cost of delivery, although we are still working on exactly what that cost is going to be. If you are interested in subscribing, starting with our first issue (Sept/Oct), please send us an e-mail (sv.prudence@gmail.com) with your name and address. We'll start a list and contact you once we know how much it will cost us to cover the deliveries in this aspect of our new business.]Anyway, we selected Charleston as our base of operations because it is new to us. We previously lived and learned to sail in North Carolina. Now, we'll get a chance to learn about her southern sister. We will work from home to design and edit each issue, but travel will be a big part of the job as well. We'll be driving around to the coastal and lakefront areas of these two states, distributing the magazines and selling advertising space. The best part of the pending working conditions is that I will be able to continue spending ALL of my time with Sheryl. In the past two years I have had the great good fortune to live 24-hours a day within 35-feet of this wonderful woman, and with each hour I have grown even more fond of her. I simply cannot imagine a life where I have to give up a minimum of 40 hours per week of that precious time. That was the ultimate perk of our cruising adventure and will continue to be the highlight of our new venture. So, what is next on the agenda? Well, we need to refocus our efforts on the boat. We'll start watching for a good weather opportunity for moving Prudence up the Chesapeake Bay. Once we reach Annapolis, we'll pull her from the water and store her on the hard with a big FOR SALE sign hanging from her bow. ![]() [ Go to NEXT ] | [ Go to PREVIOUS ]
