Had a great season – so much so in a moment of madness we have bought a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 32i, so Etoile is going to a new home – exciting times ahead!

Forever is our today

14 July 2015
At last summer arrives and with a warm wind from the south we manage a few day sails in the Orwell and venture out to sea - fantastic to be out sailing again.

We spend a night on a peaceful mooring at Wrabness and leave early the next morning to drift back down the Stour with the tide, stopping for breakfast off Harwich before returning to SYH again spending the night on board.

If one does not know to which port one is sailing, no wind is favorable.

18 May 2015
The middle of May and nothing to report on the sailing front – mainly for two reasons; WORK and WEATHER!

However the sprayhood and decks have been scrubbed and the sails are back where they belong.

More importantly there is a glimmer of a plan for a summer cruise – watch this space!

Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.

11 November 2014
Reflecting on the 2014 sailing season; we actually had some short, gentle but enjoyable sailing - true we didn't get very far (and didn't spend a single night aboard), but what we did was just enough. With a few improvements to the boat over the months and having practiced some maneuvers we both feel more confident - we probably won't venture out again until next year so in the meantime it's 'work like a captain' and 'play like a pirate'

One more drink, you're sailing away
One more dream but it's looking ok
One more time to watch the flow of the river.

You can't turn back the clock, you can't turn back the tide...

24 August 2014
With some sun and a bit of a breeze today we decide to make use of the good weather whilst it lasts - typically rain forecast for the bank holiday!

We fit a new main sheet, kicker and burgee lines before our usual blast down the Orwell and into the Stour, picking up a mooring for lunch before returning to our berth.
