Left New Caledonia yesterday via a small passage in the NE corner of the Grand Lagoon and since then have been making steady progress towards Luganville, Espiritu Santo in Vanuatu. The sun is shining and already the water temperature has risen a couple of degrees to just over 25! A large seabird was circling us for a few hours yesterday evening, around and around the boat pausing every now and again to admire the screecher sail. He appeared to be very impressed and this morning as the sun came up he was sleeping on the front rail but has now taken off for new horizons. At this pace, with a brisk SE almost right behind us we will be there by midday Monday 21 September, making it one of the more pleasant passages we have done so far! Lots of sleeping, reading and watching of Breaking Bad S3 - all very relaxing.
