Monday 6 FEB 2017 - Day AFTER Super Bowl
Wow... I guess everyone is shaking their heads after that Super Bowl !!! What a game!!
We had a table at the "Dock & Dine" (restaurant and bar at local marina) for 8 or 10 people (s/v Natalie Jane; SEEKER; Dalmatian; AB; and Gertie). No matter who you were rooting for... you have to admire Brady and the come-back he engineered. That man has ice water in his veins.
The first Over-Time game in Super Bowl History!!! WELL...I'm glad we saw this one!!! There's no TV here in the Bahamas, (at least on a cruising boat), but I'd love to hear some of the "talking heads" this AM.
The dinghy ride out to the boat at low tide, at 10:30 PM was sort of nerve wracking... but we made it... only touched bottom once, but had to tip the outboard up to TILT (trolling).
Before the game, the crews from all the boat's, except Gertie (who's IN the harbor), came over to AB for cocktails... The island (Man-O-war Cay) is basically DRY... and we didn't really know all the "rules"... Although the bar/ restaurant did serve beer and wine...(no mixed drinks).
Beautiful Sunrise this morning... It must have been hypnotic, because I sat right there at the nav. Station, listening to Chris Parker (WX) give the weather... and MISSED the forecast for the Abacos, completely. But I'll pick it up again in 25 minutes on the local VHF radio net. No worries!!
The local radio net (VHF Ch 68 at 0815) gives weather, and local conditions at the cuts to the ocean, as well as information on local events. Very interesting.
