WE're back in the USA!!
The picture posted here is actually from the First leg of the return trip ( Green Turtle Cay to Great Sail Cay), a full day sail to the north and west.

Part of that trip was also a motor-sail, because we (Seeker and AB) wanted to anchor at Great Sail cay BEFORE dark.

The plan was to use this window (weather) to cross to the USA, but to leave Great Sail about NOON on the following day (Tuesday). The anchorage at Great Sail was calm, and filled with cruisers, wanting to take advantage of this three day weather window. There was quite a bit of radio chatter about the upcoming passage.
(fast cruisers just wanted to "get across quickly"...the Trawlers were waiting for the next day (when the Gulf Stream was supposed to be "quieter")... and some of the sailing vessels were waiting until late Thursday when pure sailing was expected.

We couldn't sleep that well on Monday night, anticipation I guess...
WE got up early, and put the dinghy on the foredeck, and readied the boat for the crossing.
We tried to relax and nap, before noon, but ended up changing fuel filters (Racors), etc.

The water surface for the first part of the crossing was "like Glass". (I'll post a pic of SEEKER next).

The actual crossing of the 'stream' was a bit "lumpy" with 3 to 4 foot swells coming from two or more directions... (i.e .confused seas). Good thing it was a new moon, and dark, so you couldn't see many of the waves coming at you!!!
(All of sudden the boat would move sideways... most times when you were trying to get back to the cockpit with a full cup of coffee).

All in All a great "crossing".
