Tuesday 23 January 2018 -- Day of light projects, and PARTY !!!
Today started slowly… Emails; finish washing the deck, and rails with boat-soap, and rinse; water run (three jerry cans)…; add coolant to GEN set; etc.
Then it was time for a light lunch, and join Earl, and Kathy at this mini-van (lent to us by Skip and Lidia of the s/v “Flying PIG” (now in the Bahamas).
But when we got into the van, something was wrong… Battery was flat dead!! Absolutely nothing worked (windows; lights; nothing)… So I went back to AB to get our “jump box”…. Ours powered everything, but would NOT turn the engine over… So, Earl went to get his… While mine was still connected… EARL’s jump box did turn the engine over…. And the battery should have been accepting a charge… but with NO gauges, and just an idiot light showing a Battery…. How did we know?
So we drove around for a while… then parked it in the same place we started… Just in case it wouldn’t restart. 
But it did start… SO OFF we Went shopping at the MALL. BUT, being the prudent sailor types… we never shut the car OFF during any of the myriad shopping stops.
The only place we shut it off was the restaurant “café on the GREEN” where we were to meet Joe, Gina (s/v Okeema Rose), Lynn, Russel, Don, and Judy, and Mike and Donna (s/v Mojo).
What a wonderful evening followed…. Great conversations; Great food, and drinks;
It was great for Donna and Mike to meet their neighbors in the Vista Royal condos… (Joe, Gina, Don, Judy, Lynn, and Russel).
I hope they had a good time… Mike had just returned from Tampa, and a work mission with his brother.
The grocery load, which was the last stop before dinner… WOW… we’re going to have to raise the water-line on AB… if we keep buying food, and stuff.
