Yesterday was a busy one....I started working on my (dean) bike... and promptly reacted to a blown tube in my bike's rear tire. Bang !!! 1/4" blow-out... Tube must have been pinched during the inflation (old tube)...
I rode Susan's bike to the bike shop and bought two "Thorn-resistant tubes... Wow... what a "healthy" cross section these new tubes have.... Also purchased was a new lock, and new BELLS.... Then, Back at AB... I installed the new tube on the rear wheel...and just when I was about to flip the bike over, for the trip to shore... I thought I'd test the front wheel... It was looking pretty "ratty".... I just "touched the spokes to check tension" and one popped loose.... OH OH... NOT Good

So... back to the bike shop for a new front wheel ...
The old rim was so corroded due to the nearly continuous Salt-air environment... the spokes began to pop out....
SO... I now have a brand new Aluminum wheel... Very nice... and installation of my previously purchased "Thorn Resistant tube" was only $10. Nice place... SO... OFF the bike goes to shore today.... Yeah!

Last night was spent at Burdines for dinner, and music with the Gilligs' and another cruising couple (Dennis, and Debbie). Nice evening...

OH.... Yesterday our friends on s/v SEEKER got "The CALL"... for a ball...
But when pulling the anchor to come to the mooring field... the engine began to act weird... Threatening to stop... at the very least be 'difficult'.... but it made it to the mooring field.... However.... at this same time... the mechanical OIL Pressure Gage tube fractured... near the engine block... spraying high pressure oil into their engine compartment... YUCK....

BUT...the good thing... they're on a BALL.....and don't have to move again for a while... Yeah!!!!
Trying to look for the positive side of this... YOU could look at the oil leak as a corrosion prevention technique; coating things with OIL;
... OR....on the plus side, at least it didn't happen 'at sea'.
