Pierre, and Michlin arrived from Quebec…very late on Friday night, to spend a week with the crew of SEEKER… Susan and I stopped in to SEEKER on Saturday morning, after the cruisers radio NET to say “HI”….

We were on our way to Home Depot to buy one more 1”x 1”x 1/8” aluminum angle. That would make the final piece of my Wind Generator Blade Balance tool. More on that later…

On the way back to AB we ran into Karen Phillips… on her mission to buy Tony lunch…So we ‘tagged’ along… and ate lunch at the West Marine…(I was going say “WITH Tony”, but that didn’t really happen… in that there were more Guests at the lunch table than WM had crew staffed)… Bummer… OH WELL…we had a nice time with Karen…


By the time we got back to AB… it was truly HOT… and I was overheated from one of the boat projects…so I decided to go swimming at the stern of AB…. GOOD Thing!!! As I slipped into the water, I was “eye-high” with the towing fitting on the bow of the dinghy….. WELL !!! look at that!!!

… the tow-line, even though it’s protected from chafe on the inside of the spliced loop by a Stainless steel eye, the top of the line, where it, ostensibly, rubs on the bottom of the fiberglass dinghy, had chafed through one of three strands of the nylon line…

So…I sat there on the bottom rung of the ladder, in the cool water…and re-spliced the eye of the tow line… One of those lucky moments of cruising, When you find a potential problem BEFORE it gets to BE a REAL problem.


Susan was inside making Goulash… but I convinced her she should come swimming…. NICE.

Last night we walked down to Hurricanes tavern…so be company for Earl, and Kathy while they watched the DUKE/Syracuse game… (Duke won)… Great evening… (Pierre, Michlin, Earl, Kathy, and the crew from AB)…


Today, (Sunday), is “breakfast at the Legion” day…. Joe Pooler (s/v C-Note) is here at Marathon, and anchored outside the mooring field, somewhere… We texted Joe, yesterday, to see if he was “sneaking up on us”…. I think he did an all-nighter the day before to get down here from Miami…


Anyway, Joe will be joining us (the crews from Seeker, and AB) today for breakfast if he can get his dinghy (“B-FLAT”) in the water, and going…


I haven’t checked the weather… but it could be a beach day…. OH… it’s also “Sail-away Sunday”… (Where the people that are moored in this harbor are SUPPOSED to get out, and go sailing….)
I have to admit… it’s inviting…. (possibly less so for people like the crew of AB, who sail/ or travel close to 3000 miles a season)… but to JUST SAIL for the sake of sailing… is the ADVENTURE, and pleasure part… NO point A to Point B goal. SO …. Who knows… We’ll see what the day brings
