Bacchus tucked into a small bay mid day Saturday, on the north east end of Texada Isl. We had to get out of some sh#@@& weather and found a nice quiet yacht club. Good wharves, reasonably priced, deep water (I draw 7'2" so it's always a concern) and friendly people. The water was so deep in fact that they could not use pilings to hold the wharf in place. They had a weighted cable system that I've never run across before. A cable was anchored to the bottom then run up, through a pulley that was mounted on the surface of the wharf then half way back down with a weight on it's end holding it tight in the 14' tidal range. The 'Texada Boatin' Club' had a bit of a rural, redneck feel to it. I'd stop by again.

Vessel Name: Bacchus V
Vessel Make/Model: 1986 C+C 35 mk III
Hailing Port: Sidney B.C. on the west coast of Canada
Crew: Glenn and Gaie Judson
About: We're now empty nesters. Where was the larger boat when we really needed the space?
Extra: Bacchus is named for the Roman God of wine and partying. It was a good fit, but it's sometimes interesting crossing the border! 'check that boat for wine!'
