Yesterday we moved to a new anchorage in the SE corner of Kauehi atoll. The forecast is for a couple days of windy weather, so we figured to hunker down here before sailing over to Fakarava atoll. This spot is a little off the beaten track since it is in the "Zone Non Hydrographie" which basically means uncharted, but we got the waypoint online from the Soggy Paws compendium and it was spot on, leading us to a very pretty and secluded anchorage. Once settled we walked across the atoll to the ocean side. What a difference! Windy, crashing waves and deep, deep water. Today we set up the hookah diving compressor and Wendy got her first diving lesson. I let her scrub the boat bottom to practice... We've also had a few rain squalls roll through, so we try to coordinate our outside projects with washing the boat. It's true when they say that cruising is just working on the boat in beautiful places. Today I rewired my forward running lights and sealed a few leaks while ime rsed in the picture above.
