Savusavu

After clearing in was completed we were allowed to move to the inner harbor area where we took a mooring with the Copra Shed marina. This was a nice facility, centrally located and served us well during our stay.
We had a busy week in Savusavu sampling some of the restaurants, enjoying the large farmer's market and seeing some of the sights. We hired a taxi to help us geocache on the east end of the island (see pic) and again to take us over to the north side to see Labasa. That was a beautiful drive. Our cabby then took us to the geothermal springs to see how the locals cook there food in the boiling water. The local clinic had hot tubs for hire that used the springs to cook their patients. It was divine - we soaked for over an hour. We also took a seminar from a local sailor (Curly), who provided waypoints and a lot of useful advice for navigating the numerous reefs around Fiji. Mostly we just relaxed, catching up on reading, internet, laundry and provisioning. It may be several weeks before we see another sizeable town after we leave here.
