Whangarei Falls

We arrived in Whangarei Town Basin a few hours before high tide on Sunday Dec 21 and decided to wait at the guest dock for a full high tide before attempting the inside berth assigned to us, since the water is quite shallow and the spacing tight. Once installed in our waterfront berth we began exploring Whangarei. Lots of interesting things to see and do here from the Clapham clock museum, Whangarei Falls (see pic), many hiking trails, heaps of geocaches and a plethora of shopping, eating and boating services. Needless to say we are keeping quite busy here between sightseeing, boat projects and sampling the local dining. Next up will be an extended land tour of the South Island. Stay tuned!
