Port Townsend

We left Blake Island at dawn to catch the ebb tide and made it all the way to Marrowstone Point before hitting the flood. From there it was just a few miles against the current into Port Townsend. We elected to take a slip in the marina for the night on account of the gale warning forecast in the Straight of Juan de Fuca for later that night. Despite the wind (20+ kts) we had a pleasant day walking, Skid swam at the beach and I checked out the boat yard as they have a lift wide enough for Bangorang. Very nice place. We also discovered an excellent whole-in-the-wall breakfast place called the Blue Moose.
The next day we moved out to Fort Worden for an early morning departure and spent an interesting day geocaching amongst the old WWII gun emplacements on Point Wilson. Skid saw a deer and I think he wet himself, or maybe that was the swimming... Skid really loves the beach.
