In case we're ever falling overboard, or worse, lost at sea, this life ring will allow you to know who we are and where we're from.

"Do we really have to look like a Chinese Laundry boat?" sighs Dave in a tone tinged with Exasperation, as he looks at the things I've hung out to dry.
Well, I admit he's sort of only maybe perhaps partly right as I gaze outward to what our home looks like at the moment.
The bedsheets are hung with clothespins, fluttering in the breezes, the pillows laying up on deck are being sun-dried, and the mattress pad is also strewn out in a sideways haphazard way, getting a good doze of UV,
while on the other side the bathroom hand-towel is hung up to dry, as are our bath towels from the night before.
"I've always found that making sure everything is totally dry helps with getting rid of any extra moisture onboard, and the extra dose of heat sure crisps anything else out. Helps the towels smell less, requiring less frequent washing time..." I explained my way out of his exasperation.
While all that's fluttering in the wind, in our cabin the mattress gets lifted so everything underneath can get a good whiff of breeze to dry out the wood and any moisture hiding beneath.
It's totally imperfect, and might violate the Marina Covenants, but hey, it works.
"And there's nothing like laying down on air-dry-fresh-of the-day sheets when you sink into your comfy cozy bed at night, right? " I ask my honey.
"Mm-hmm" he replied, probably not really caring much, but secretly I think it matters.
We picked up a new "
Halifax" sign when back in Canada,
but first the old one needs to be removed.
and the centerpoint found,
and taped on, "just so".
The backing removed,
all air bubbles squeeged out.
The end result...
"I don't like it" complained the Capt'N, "the A didn't quite squeeze out right. There's a crease there" he squinted and glared at it, rubbing his thumb hard to try and increase it. "Don't you see it?"
He hemmed, and hawed, and inspected and grumbled, pissed off at himself that it wasn't Perfect.
"Do I need to start over?" he asked?
"Nope" I answered in all honestly "I think it looks just fine" I smiled. "Perhaps, even, rather perfect!".
It was the night of the Full Moon, Blood Moon, SuperMoon and Lunar Eclipse, all happening at once. Chris picked us up and we made our way over to Benji Bay with only a few missed turns, two ask for direction stops, and finally scoring the best parking spot ever.
An evening with good food and music, surrounded by many friends,
while eagerly waiting and anticipating the events to shortly happen overhead.
"Makes you wonder where we'll be then?" I mused out loud, to which Catherine quickly replied with absolute certainty,
"Oh, I won't be HERE".
Which instantly brought me out of my world to query her response in attentive surprise and shock.
"You won't be Here? Why ever not?" I wondered, almost deathly afraid to ask.
"I won't be HERE" she repeated, nodding her head at the ground, meaning physically here in Grenada. Izzy had commented the same the other day, so it was coming at me from all sides.
This Lunar Eclipse, SuperMoon and BloodMoon event hasn't happened since 1982, and who knows where any of us will be when anticipating the next Full Moon, Supermoon, Blood Moon and Lunar Eclipse, scheduled to happen in 2033.
Perhaps we were all inhaling way too much smoke from the bonfire behind us,
and those sitting around it !!
And overhead, in a span of an evening that lasted awhile, the moon did rise, obscured every so often by a few wispy clouds
and mostly shining brightly in its full glory,
and the eclipse followed in impressive shades
and shapes,
until the entire man in the moon turned quite a nice shade of beet red.
Imperfect Perfection. It's not about anything being perfect, or perfect end results, but rather the imperfectness that makes the story of the day, or evening, or a life, all part and parcel of the memories which we shall remember and treasure forever.
