Our Last Sail-About

Oh what a beautiful sail we sailed yesterday - out the harbour around the point and back in by Eastern Passage. We even glared at ourselves both of us thinking that we could've just keep going... the Carribean was what, 2 weeks out - that-a-ways ??
This was our last sail. Of this summer. Of this season. And if the boat sells, possibly our last sail on Dave's lovely Illihee II. The weather was just perfect and the seas calm. We couldn't believe the traffic out on the water, and for those that weren't taking part in last minute races they were out enjoying a lovely Saturday sail. I sure got to practice my rules of the road !!
Today we had to get down to business though and finally finished around suppertime and the lovely sailing vessel Illihee II now sits back in her berth, mast-less, waiting for haul-out. In the next few weeks she'll have to be emptied and cleaned, inside and out and winterized. It's that time of year, again, and the long walk away from her was just a little sad.
However, we know that there are going to be more sail-abouts and more adventures just around the corner and many a more boardwalks to walk into and walk away from... so it's our last sail-about "for now"... stay tuned ...
