A Three Stooges type of Friday night

Alex, hot and getting overcast
Well, what a series of adventures we had to start the weekend off ....Not exactly what we had planned lol.
We were armed... Armed to the teeth, probably over-armed but hey, better too much than too little... right ? Either way, we had enough food, hell, we had more than enough food, more than enough drinks, more than a long enough list of things to do, the want to go sailing before the rain hit, the want to overnight on our lovely new Banyan, but the weather was going to dictate that one lol...and so off we went...
We got onboard full of P&V, Dave tackling his list of things to be done, starting off by tightening the rig etc, and I playing domestic goddess for a wee bit and then voila, we got the sails out, the boat prepped and promptly headed down the harbor, under both bridges and into the Bedford Basin, watching a Coast Guard helicopter fly overhead and land on a nearby ship (tres cool), before we turned her around and headed back. A small but simple Bruschetta feast kept our appetite at bay....
Picked up our mooring ball and Dave prepped the BBQ, promptly somehow losing a vital piece and watching as it sank into the watery depths. Damn ! So there goes our mode de cuisson... Never one to despair, I had Plan B well under control and not a minute too soon, as we were really getting hungry by then. Put it all into the pressure cooker and NLT 15 minutes we should be ready ? Well, the pressure cooker started to hiss and steam and do it's thing and then promptly stopped...no flames out of the stove, wtf ? So the propane cylinders got changed and we tried again, same song and dance, start to steam and no flame after a few minutes... Dave checked e whole propane system and the control box was wayyy too hot to touch...maybe it was as simple as overheating - maybe it's going to be as complicated as having to replace the whole system... Le Sigh.
By then we figured that The Universe was telling us we were not meant to have supper on board, and the impending storm clouds dictated lots of rain a-coming, so we packed up our dinghy, pressure cooker with the half-cooked food and all, and started the ride home, only to have the motor die on us. Damn! So as Dave is trying to start her up, his elbow connects with my forehead rather abruptly and with much force. Ouch.
By that point in time, we were both swearing HA HA.
No need to say any more... We headed home, finished and ate the meal in minutes and promptly fell asleep, Laurel and Hardy style.
There's always tomorrow right ?
