From lazy hazy coffees to Immediate SAR procedures

The plan was to have a quiet type of morning, you know, coffee, maybe um, perhaps, another coffee ? Some blogging. Some hiking. Some snoozing.
It was quite an innocent question, "dear, where's the cushion ?"
Hmm… "dear, I don't know" and well…
if it wasn't on the cockpit bench,
and it wasn't on the side where he moved it to get to the tools,
and it wasn't inside the boat, I mean we really only have 40 feet of space and it's a damn big cushion…
well you get the logical conclusion of this one.
DAMN….
We went from inflated happy go lucky boaters to panic and rescue mode.
We searched and scanned and nothing (aren't boat cushions supposed to float?)
Since it was nowhere on the horizon, we figured that somehow we must've lost it during the night, perhaps it just slanted the wrong way, and went overboard. IF that was the case, then the tide would've brought up onshore along the "waterfront" so we clambered into the dinghy, followed the tide's ebb and flow, and off we went… and what felt like a lifetime later, yeahhhaaaa, there it was, our poor lonely cushion, sitting washed up on the beach, a little worse for wear, covered with seagrass and seaweed and sand, but alive and beckoning, nevertheless.
Back to the boat, reaching for the soap and brush, and off to the marina dock to wash all the scum and salt water off. Happ-Y-ness !!
