Dinner and a Movie.
09 August 2011 | Backman's Island
Alex, overcast
All the excitement and hoopla of the morning, followed by the ceremonial duties of the afternoon, left us a little anxious to get out of dodge so we hauled (and cleaned) anchor and headed out, as the winds were quite in our favour.
Technical information for Mahone Bay. We were @ anchor (mud bottom) so free of charge. Showers. Brief walk for provisions. Laundry facilities closed for renovations.
So heading out, and continuing on our present path we figured we'd be in Lunenbroug between 8 and 9 at night, and somehow, we looked at each other, and well, Backman's Island, Dinner and a Movie seemed like a much better alternative.
Sometimes it's a smarter thing to recognize your own sluggishness and opt out of the present direction.
Thanks RumRunner for the use of your mooring ball. We spent a most lazy evening enjoying Pina Colada pre-dinner drinks and bruschetta, watching the falcons fly to their nests with dangerously large branches firmly in thier talons (isn't it too late to be building nests ??), followed by a delicious supper of BBQ steak, baked potato, roasted parsnip, carrot and onions, and a glass or two of merlot, gawed but life is good !!
The movie of the night was an old one, Secret Window, with lots of popcorn and even a twizzler or two.
