We really didn't get much sleep last night as the winds were a-howling and the surge a-pounding and our boat a-moving and well things were off to a very slow start this morning.
We thought we would take a run into town looking for that replacement UV bulb for the water maker, hoping to get there and back before the rain hit. Home Hardware didn't stock this size, but I did find myself some measuring cups (yayyy)... Only a food geek ilke me would get excited about something like that. We managed to make it back to the Clubhouse just as the skies opened up !!
We finished up our laundry and spoiled ourselves to one more meal out at the
Sea Dog Pub and from its comfortable and dry table we watched the choppy waves hit the shoreline and the rain just come down in bucketful's.
Dodging the raindrops we made it back aboard, our last batch of laundry done !! I had made another happy discovery, the SHYC had the "Sizzling Sixteen" in their "give one take one" library and I was looking forward to having myself some down time, but you may remember me mentioning that purchase at Home Hardware ?? Those measuring cups were calling my name, and so I just had to get out the yeast and flour and stuff and before I knew it, there was a batch of dough sitting there rising :)
I made 6 plain buns, 3 of them with cheese, and 3 of the them with Herbes de Provence and Cheese.
Dave spent the afternoon doing some research on the watermaker setup, trying to figure out the components, and every now and then he'd stick his head out to make sure Banyan was holding tight in the winds and rains, which she was.
And now that supper is over, the water is calm as can be, the "fog" has cleared, the sun has come out in time for a spectacular sunset and the only evidence of the wicked weather is the wetness of everything. Amazing.
And so it goes, life dependant on the comings and goings of Mother Nature. It's a whole different way of being, you really can't plan to be busy, or plan to "not be busy"... you just take each moment as it comes and enjoy it, totally !!
