Paradise is not a place, it's a state of mind !!

Alex, sunny and hot
Woke up yesterday to piss pouring rain and then just as we were getting ourselves up and at 'em the rain slowly stopped and we knew that was our cue from Mother Nature saying haul your butts outta there, and get moving, and we did just that, wishing the fishermen on Little Mako II best of luck in their upcoming, overnight shark quest.
We sailed away and into 2 meter rolling seas, corkscrewing our way to putting the jib out and well, noticed that the engine really wasn't helping matters any so turned that off and we braved on through the fog and fog, and more fog and did I mention they were 2 meter waves? It was like a roller coaster, up and down, and in and out, and wowwww.....
We were thankful to round the corner at Mosher's Point Lighthouse and anchor at the Mosher's Beach, where a giant dog raced alongside the rocky shore to greet us (or would that be guard his territory?), and he just sat there, at the beach, forever and a moment, waiting for us to come ashore, even barking his presence a few times, do you have a cookie for me ?
We stayed there for an hour or so, letting our bodies settle from the seas, grab some sun, fix up our dinghy, and thoroughly enjoyed yet another moment in paradise, and then sadly it was time to leave (why is it always time to leave Paradise ??)
Sailed for a bit coming into LaHave but the winds weren't really cooperating, and we came to settle at the LaHave Marina, where we were once again greeted with open arms and lots of generosity. There was a big social going on, and we were welcomed with open arms (just wish we weren't as tired as we were from our day), and we enjoyed the great music of the band, and met some interesting people.
Best part, Dave ended up meeting someone that he sailed with on the Protecteur when he was but a young'un who remembered when poor ole Dave was led astray... there were even pictures of Dave, at 17, with some sort of interesting Navy initiation...
Great times to be sure, and you know, really, paradise is not a place, you don't come to it, you don't leave it... it's always there, just like the song goes, "paradise is not a place, it's a state of mind"
