November ?

Alex, cold but gorgeous
I sit here at my desk and look at the change of page on my desktop calendar and am aghast, mouth agape, uncomprehending how on earth it be possible that today be November. Already.
I distinctly remember flipping the page, yesterday as it were, to October and being quite giddy with excitement… it was going to be a great month, the weather was perfect, we were still sailing, the need to put the boat away still "off in the distance" as it were…
A flip of the page later and well, we sailed (litearlly) through Thanksgiving, we celebrated Birthdays, we enjoyed Sunday dinners and Ghoulish Goblins, we walked and jogged and YOGA'ed our way to losing a few pounds, and our gloves and mitts have come out of their storage boxes.
We disassembled Banyan and she now sits pretty in her cradle. Dave is figuring one or two more visits and she be properly secured and ready for shrinkwrap. And, last night we used our fingers to count out the very long months till we see her again. 6 or maybe 7.
MONTHS ?? Now THAT really puts things in a OMG type of perspective of how long our winter season is, and how dreadfully short our summer sailling season is.
