This week Dave, along with a great and very helpful friend of ours, who also happens to own a truck, which is not why he's our friend, but it just happens to come in really handy, drove Dave and our dinghy back to the dealer for a checkover and some repair work.
During our summer cruise-about while we were out and about and in some nasty weather and very confused seas, we were towing our dinghy, bouncing back and forth, having a good-ole time... one of the dinghy towing hooks was quite violently torn loose... thankfully and luckily we didn't lose our dinghy, and the damage is repairable, however we did have a few tense moments there for a minute or two.
And speaking of our summer cruise-about, it's kind of exhilerating to remember that our summer cruise was really a honeymoon of sorts !! My but how time flies !
So that's one more thing done and out of the way, and with the dinghy out of the garage, this leaves some extra room for us to hopefully get at some stuff this weekend and the upcoming weeks... make some more lists - sell stuff, give away stuff, donate stuff, garbage stuff, which will all hopefully lead to a clean(er) garage, one where we can hopefully drive our car in so that we don't have to leave it outside to get covered in the snowfall like it did last night.
Speaking of snowfalls we had a fall of snow last night and I was not looking forward to getting up and moving this morning, but as I got out of the shower, I heard my my wonderful husband out there getting the driveway shoveled out. So here's to a wonderful husband :) and here's to getting to work safe and sound :) and here's looking forward to a few years of no snow coming up soon... and here's to a wonderful husband :)
But all of the above is "up and coming" work blah blah blah and really, nothing will happen tonight, as tonight is a TGIF sort of night, and that, very clearly spells out DATE NIGHT. This week our Date Night just happens to be BBR night at the
SYC Club.
And yes it's fun and important to have date nights don't you think ? Not necessarily going out nights, but even staying in nights are fun. So single and co-habitating or married and "old" or married for forever and a day, I think it's important to make time to be with each other without labelling the relationship with a "time" factor - rather each day, and each moment is a gift, and it should be treasured and honoured and greatefully appreciated.
Or maybe we're just silly and suffering from newly married syndrome? Either way TGIF's and DATE NIGHT's are something to look forward to, n'est ce pas ?

This is our dinghy resting nicely at Carter's Beach in Port Mouton where the beaches are boasted to be one of the best in Nova scotia, beautiful turquoise and ice cold waters...
Port Mouton was discovered by French explorers Pierre Dugua, Sieur de Monts and Samuel de Champlain. The village apparently takes its name because a sheep, excited to see land after the long journey, jumped overboard one of the vessels and swam to shore. Interesting fact number two: the villagers don't pronounce it as Port Mouton, but rather Port Ma-toon. Go figure.
