So what does one do when you're counting down the days to the Big Adventure, yet it's cold outside, there's nowhere to go, nothing to do, it's going on Saturday night, and well... the list of things to be done is just growing longer and longer, we're doing and doing, and well, did I mention it was Saturday night ??
Saturday nights are well.. Saturday nights. Stay in, watch movies, and eat...
Eat ? Did someone say EAT ?? As you may or may not know, I love to cook. And thankfully Dave likes to eat. Well I like to eat too hence my current low-carb Way of Eating. However, I immediately decided that on Saturday's, diets don't count. Cause it's Saturday. And Le Chef is always right ! Right ?
So some of the fun was in planning the menu, searching for the right recipe and I soon had myself a plan: Beef Wellington, salad and mashed potatoes for Dave, mashed cauliflower for me, and Flan de Coco to top it all off. Yumm....
We had all the ingredients at home, and a visit to the grocery store involved getting ourselves a beautiful piece of tenderloin from the Superstore butchers, fortuitously the mushrooms were on sale, so we picked some of those up, and the puff pastry came next... followed by a can of coconut milk and that was all that was needed to make the dessert. Not too expensive a venture... and that's always a good thing.
So while Dave decided to start uploading all our music CD's on the computer (in an attempt to get rid of SCHTUFF), I spent the next couple of hours "in the kitchen" doing my thing, and once Dave uploaded ABBA, well there was just no stopping The Chef !!

But remember, only do this on Saturday's. Or it counts.
The Chef. And Dave.
