As we headed out of Annapolis, and across the Chesapeake Bay, we passed the very famous Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse, one of the prettiest I've seen yet, although, admittedly, each and every one is unique and different and special !!



And as much as Annapolis was awesome, there is no words to describe the freedom and joy we felt being back on the water, having the sails out and letting the wind power the sails and freshen our faces as we glided along... So Awesome !

We arrived in San Domingo Creek late afternoon and dropped anchor to enjoy what can only be described as The. Perfect. Spot.

San Domingo Creek - even the name evokes something a tad foreign, somewhat majestic and most definitely goregeous ! The last two hours of our journey was spent meandering to arrive in this hidden gem of a spot, the beautiful homes sheltered behind large and expansive ageless trees, and truly, nature at its very best behaviour !! We settled in and listened to nothingness... perforated by the din of crickets chirping, watched the Canada Geese fly by and announce their arrival with some major HONKING as they glided into the water. Sundowners to sunset, followed by a romantic dinner of BBQ steak, baked potatoes and farm fresh vegetables. Simple food, yet so delicious !! It's always so nice to come back to the basics.

As we went to bed the wind piped up and HOWLED all night, a nor-easter definitely blowing through. We can now feel the chill in the air and fall is starting to announce her presence, the leaves just barely starting to tinge into their bright red and orange hues, but most dis-appointingly, the days are requiring "socks" !!

We spent this morning touring St Michaels, which came highly recommended as a "must-see" destination, and now we know why. Historical charm, yes, and this has got to be one of our favourite spots yet!!

We walked up and down and through the residential neighbourhood streets, houses (and graveyards) circa early 1800's, all and every single one of them meticulously up kept.



Each porch decorated with a distinctively different flair,



and local Inns and Art Galleries abound,





What was once a Colonial Village now caters mostly to tourists. It being mid-October (already, where does the time go?) we were only a few of the handful of people walking about, cameras in hand.

I'll let the pictures do the talking. However, there is one by a local B&B I believe, that clearly spoke to me, evoking in a simple moment of clarity, what this area is all about.

Where free (and fast) wi-fi abounds (yay !!), but really, Dot CALM should be the mantra of the Day !! Every Day. N'est-ce-pas?
