The Universe delivers random thoughts to my Inbox each and every morning.
And more often than not, they are surprisingly positive (and oh so accurate) musings of how life can be be lived. Like today's for example,
"Nothing ensures happiness. No destination is great enough. No dream come true will do.
Because happiness, that's not present at the start of a journey will not be present at its end."
Yesterday's plan of the day got a tad, hmm, waylaid.
It was all the sun's fault.
After starting some inside chores (do they ever go away?) we noticed that bright yellow thing in the clear blue sky, went for a looksee, sat outside for a minute, and totally agreed that it was way too nice outside to be doing anything inside.
And sure enough, fellow boater Chances must've been thinking the same thing as they pulled up beside us and invited us "downtown" for a fest of sorts that was going on.
Why not ? Life's too short (and too sunny), to be doing chores, right ?
So off we went, finally found them up some creek or other, sitting pretty at the picnic tables, having a beer, with fellow boaters that are also anchored here in Mill Creek with us.
And this is what ensued.
Oysters like we've never had them before ! As you can tell by Dave's smile, they were UnBElievably good,
A dozen freshly steamed crabs, delivered to your table, on order...
The Coors Girl came by and showed us how to crack them open and eat 'em up, a process that I'm afraid requires years of training, or many more crab-fests like this one...
The end result... "ALL GONE"...
All the while listening to Johnny belt out his tunes...
A great way to while away sunny Sunday afternoons, and best of all, funds were going in support of childhood cancer.
After all that-festing, we re-assembled on Chances, along with the new guys in town (and only American boat anchored here with us), Glory Days, and chit-chatted, laughed and compared notes some more !!
Some serious Southern Comfort (thanks Chances !!) later, we dinghied home, totally happy !
