Alex, grey and raining...
Our first day at the Hampton Public Piers Marina was spent doing some much needed boat cleaning. After all we haven't done much (ok, none at all) since we left the Halifax waters some 4 months ago now and although we get a "salt water wash" daily, and often when we least expect it, there's nothing like fresh water, some soap, and much elbow grease, to get the hull back to white and the teak back to its lustre.
We even tried some of the "magic" stainless steel goop "Spotless Stainless" that we bought at the Annapolis Boat show. It's a brush on, leave on for 30 minutes, and rinse off... and it miraculously cleans your stainless. And well, are happy to report, that it did a, well, a miraculous job !
Being hooked up at a marina means we have power and non-stop water, that is, in of itself, a wonderful time.
Before we did all that, however, we went for a walk through town (with our lattés - of course HA!). It felt so good to not only visit this cute town, but stretch our legs and get our bearings of what's what and where's where here in Hampton.
We did find THE "street" to go visit later...
Cheers !
