Hurricane Sandy

Alex, messy out there !
The worst of Hurricane Sandy was to pass Saturday through the night and Sunday morning, and sure enough, the winds continued to howl and blow, and it rained constantly. Nothing too drastic as far as rain was concerned... the surge rose us by a few feet and we clocked the winds around the mid-30's range. Even though we're tied snugly alongside, the boat did heel over a few times that made us both look up and say "whoah, and we kept a close watch on our lines, and our bimini/dodger which we had chosen to keep up.
I accepted Serendipity's invitation to head out to the gym for a Yoga session, and off into the winds and rain I went. What a great hour spent breathing back into these familiar poses ! It'd been a while since I did a whole "class" and words cannot even begin to describe how amazingly great I felt to be back at it ! They were using Gaiam's CD, something I will look into buying and having onboard.
Other than that, not much to report. I cleaned out the fridge, and defrosted and cleaned out the freezer. What amazing things one can do freely when there's lots of hot water ! It's nice being hooked up to unlimited running water and shore power for a change. With those chores done, we used the courtesy car to drive to Oriental and pick up a few missing items for our galley.
Some research (on the sporadic wi-fi connection) planning our journey "south". A visit to the Clubhouse where the fires in the hearth were keeping fellow travellers sitting around chatting, playing pool, having a "beer", and waiting...
We're safe and sound, waiting as well.
