Woke up this morning after another insufferably hot sweaty clammy night and immediately felt and heard the beginnings of a slight breeze coming through... a North Wind that was blowing the oppressively sticky humidity of the last week away. Swoosh Hot Clammy Damp Air... BeGone. And thusly, we raised a Cheer, with our morning coffee, to the Winds of Change ! Here's hoping they propel us to something NEW. Amen.
Don't get me wrong. I love the heat. I love (a certain amount of humidity), after all I grew up just outside of Montreal, where the summers of my youth were beyond humid. Having spent the last 20 years of my life in Nova Scotia, where there was ALWAYS a breeze, I'd forogtten just what the energy sucking wall of sweaty heat does to a body.
As with all things, there is a period of adjustment and we spent the first few days just "laying there" wallowing in our inability to DO anything, and our environment reflected this as well. However, the last two days had us adjusted and recovered.
I've commandeered Dinghy and have been taking myself places,
doing some chores, oven cleaning, cleaning up some spots on the deck. The blue flecked product on the white hull sort of reminds me of the various creams we're applying to our red bumpy bug bitten itchy bodies.
Dave spent some time in the "office" getting some paper-work done. He checked and double-checked the existing solar panel we have, and still cannot find where any, if any, amp hours might be registering, although the solar panel does seem, by all indications, to be working. He did find a blown fuse though, which he replaced, although we still haven't figured out what IT was doing.
We've been going for long afternoon walks, spending some time at the beach,
watching the bird get his worm,
or fish in this case.
And stopping to smell the flowers. Nice.
I actually sat in the cockpit yesterday and read my book, for a couple of hours. Nice. Another first !! And then prompted by "action begets action", out came a few Christmas Decorations to allow the spirit of festivity to flow in.
The last few days we'd been going nowhere WRT to our intended work on Banyan, our research going in circles, and coming against one dead end after another. Le Sigh. We received an email from a reader in the area, that might hopefully point us in a new direction regarding solar panels and canvas work and installers. And some more phone calls out that might result in something positive and do-able...
Funny how the Winds of Change operate eh? Combining with the Thoughts become Things, and the Law of Attraction, the mind is capable of doing so much more to the energy of the day? A quick mental adjustment combined with some action, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, can quickly flip flop your energy levels from one direction to another.
Here's hoping the winds of change are blowing their way through Banyan. And your way as well.
