Given how, without wifi and in No Name Harbour, we felt a little lost !We needed to get some more stuff done (we are so seriously tired of shopping and getting ready !) and so we raised anchor and travelled the one hour to Dinner Key.
After a bit of a nailbiting ride in (very shallow!) waters, we tied up alongside Grove Marina for some diesel, and then called Coconut Grove (but their few deep draft mooring balls were taken) so we called Dinner Cay and got ourselves a mooring ball.
The next order of business was laundry, and so we called the water taxi which promptly picked us up (he works on an hourly basis) and told us, once we were onboard, that both washing machines were "broken". Thankfully once in, there were only two loads ahead of me, so I didn't have long to wait, but given the order of business and priorities, Dave headed out to the Fresh Market for the fresh supplies we needed. Not exactly the best bargains around, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do, and you gotta spend what you gotta spend, when time is of the essence.
I laughed when who do I meet in the laundry room, but Jackie from Heritage, who got me all caught up to date with some of the cruisers we'd been missing (hello Chances !, hope you get here soon!). We met a few other cruisers that we'd seen as well, and that was always fun, however, everyone's mind is on The Crossing !
We got 'er all done, enjoyed a Fish Taco Lupper at Scotty's and toasted ourselves with what we've accomplished (and not what we hadn't).
Bottom Line : We have what we have. We've done the best we could, given the circumstances we had, and well, I'm sure we won't starve. I'm sure we've forgotten something. I'm sure we'll have a few too many things left over next year. Or maybe not. Who knows. It will be what it will be.
