There was an Island with mountain waiting to be explored and we had legs itching to go for a walk. Paul told us about "Sunset Loop", a great walking trail to the top of Peter Island. So armed with our usual gear, off we went.
What started out as a simple dirt road,
quickly became a paved road as we passed through parts of the very luxurious resort area,
then narrowed into one lane, and instantly went uphill.
And so it continued, and we trekked, up and up and up,
and at the top of the mountain, by the Eagle's Nest Villa (reputed to cost $14,000, A NIGHT, and comes with valet, chef, and, and, and...)
which is where we stopped, just barely seeing the path of the Sunset Loop meander around way down yonder, past the windwmills...
the views spectacular,
The Island boasts a Helo pad, for special visitors
and below us the path we walked on,
enjoying (and very grateful) for the ICE COLD water stops along the way,
and this critter stopped to say hello, but the goats were to shy for a photo op,
Peter Island is a private island and a quiet place. There are a few anchorages to be found, some with mooring balls, and in Sprat Bay you can find the marina (mooring ball costs $65 a night, a slip $125).
Quite the place !!
