While waiting for the weather winds to cease, or just slow down a tad, puh-LEASE we've had the perfect opportunity to bring Banyan alongside in Rodney Bay's IGY Marina for a couple of days in order to get some stuff done.
It being almost the end season, the marina is looking pretty deserted these days,
and well, it really is a nice place to stay.
Not to bore you with the long pesky details of almost spring-type-housecleaning and such, we've gotten alot done. Dinghy has been scrubbed,
Banyan's been washed and is ready for another coat of wax.
Teak decks have been washed (lightly scrubbed across the grain). Usually we just use mild soap and fresh water rinse, however, every now and then we like to give it a good cleaning and this time we tried a new product, Snappy Teak-Nu, and have to admit we really like the end results.
Our laundry got done,
our propane tanks are filled. The batteries equalized as our water consumption sky-rocketed through the roof!
We've had some back door deliveries,
of some amazingly delicious fresh fruit
that is perfect for morning fruit salads before any work starts.
We rendez-vous'ed with
Mike and Rebecca for some happy hour drinks at the marina bars, walked to town looking for some Mexican dishes and ended up with Chinese, and the great test during the walk back was that we weren't liming, but rather prancing on the rocky non existent sidewalks home, stopping for but a moment to take in a jam session happening along the way, ensuring JabJab wasn't following us.
We've discovered how to make our own (DIY) hand foaming soap,
and WHY do we pay so much MORE for prepackaged containers that actually contain LESS soap and more water? Why haven't I done this sooner?
Dave being a precise military timing type of man said,
"Babe, guess, what we're doing at 3:20?"
and I, being rather sharp and on top of things easily replied,
"going to see a movie dear?"
And so mornings of hard sweaty work culminating with afternoon adventures that arrowed the way,
to this perfect photo-op
Somehow we are starting to realize we can't imagine a life without roosters and cows and fresh air. However, not only was Star Trek "Into the Darkness" fantastic, but the air conditioning a welcome relief as was the price of the extra large popcorn and drinks (approx $20EC) which recalculates to what, $8.00?! I know back in Canada we would have paid double that - how awesome is that?
In a marina or not there's still sundowners to be enjoyed
and we're feeling rather accomplished. Plans are in place and we're feeling pretty clean.
