Happy New Year !!
2015?? WOW... Am I the only one who feels a sense of surrealism when I type that number?? I distinctly remember, (almost) as if it were yesterday, the chaotic frenzy of life when the calendar year was doing a 4 digit turn from 1999 to 2000!!
Do you remember that Year? That Time? Can you believe that was all 15 years ago?? What were you doing? Where were you? What's all happened since then? Hope you've all had at least a few AHA!! and WOW!! moments ??
But back to the now. The Capt'N and I have been quite busy roaming around in Antigua for the last month, as you may (or may not) have sensed from our lack of posts. We've journeyed, and we've feasted and we've celebrated the last few weeks of holidays. And best of all, we've journeyed some of that time with friends onboard. What great times !!
This year we didn't feel quite as Ho-Ho-Ho'ish as we usually do. Perhaps it's because we're so removed from family and friends and traditions and the media frenzy of Holiday-isms?
That's ok though, as we've mindfully practiced something this last year. The Art of Gratefulness.
We feel in our heart of hearts, as the Green Grinch would say, that we have become so thankful and grateful, each and every day. We exchange the gift of time with each other, and presents, tangible or not, happen, when the moment strikes, with the people we meet, on a moment-by-moment basis. And that is the true spirit of a precious life, isn't it?
And so we toasted a Cheers on New Year's Eve, as the fireworks popped overhead, so Heart-Ful for everything we've done, accomplished, and learned. The people we've met, the bridges we've crossed, the heights we've climbed, the depths we've swam out of.
All Great reasons to Celebrate, n'est ce pas?
So the Capt'N and I,
would like to wish each and every one of you, a wonderful start to the New Year.
May you be enveloped in good health and
boisterous (thanks for that word G&G on
SV Slow Waltz) happy-ness. May you radiate peace and love within your family and friendships and environment.
Whatever they may be, Dream your Dreams. And to help with that, take just one small step towards their direction. Today. And again, tomorrow...
Love and hugs,
The Capt'N and I
