Barracuda boarded again
05 August 2017 | Kilmore, Southern Ireland
So last night on arrival we enjoyed a pre-lash and then headed into town for supper only to discover we were too late so we returned to Barracuda where Cameron took charge of the galley and magiced up a fab supper - mucho appreciato! The crew of the good ship slept like fallen logs. Up at a sensible hour thanks mainly to the tide gods who, for once, gave us a lie in. Then off and heading south on the tide past Arklow, Roslaire, Tuskar Rock and round Carnsore Point to Kilmore. The bit going with the tide was good - mostly a motor sail. The tide turned before we got round the headland so it became a long slow donk to finish with some heavish weather coming in from the southwest. Today's excitement was being boarded by Irish Customs - the usual high speed rib treatment - all very courteous. We are getting used to that. Into Kilmore in time for fish and chips - 3 portions - enough to feed an army - a large one at that.
