Our wee trip up to San Simon at the top of Rio Vigo was so well worth it. We tried to anchor but after ploughing our way through weed that looked like Davy Jones's beard, headed for the little marina of San Adrian. Very welcoming, and the restaurant did not disappoint - lovely relaxed meal last night sitting above the yacht harbour - and a yummy traditional Galician monkfish casserole.
We had toyed with by-passing Cies today and going straight for Baiona, but we needed to deliver something there so motored over, and weren't disappointed. Cies gets boatloads of visitors from the mainland but it has the space to cope. The beach is lovely - warm, clean, sandy - so we sat and read our books for a while and watched three girls passing a joint around and getting stoned and sunburned (them not us, obv) - it made a change from the usual people watching. So relaxed were we that we didn't notice the dinghy floating off as the tide came in - thank you, handsome young Spaniard who swam out to rescue it! We now plan to spend the night here at anchor and enjoy some tranquility when the beach visitors leave.
