Leg 4 Martha's Vineyard to Ptown
10 June 2011 | Ocean
Bret - foggy
Yesterday we walked around Oak Bluff at lunch time (the nicest time of the day as it rained on and off). We walked through the cutest neighborhood of old Victorian Gingerbread houses. There are 364 or these houses all in one area. It is really beautiful. Maybe a little too stepford wives for my taste, but still pretty. Last night we got everything ready for an early departure today. We also battened down the hatches as there were some pretty bad storms in the area. We saw some pretty cool lightening but the storms missed us! Yeah!
This morning we got up at 6 and were on our way by 6:20. The sail was not a sail but another motor as the wind was directly on our nose. We are currently about 3-4 hours away from Ptown. I am ready to moor for the summer. We had a few technical difficulties on our journey. One of our chartplotters went out, thankfully we have two, and also our Satellite dish for TV is not locking on the Satellites so we get a bad reception. But other than that the trip over all was pretty darn good. It gave us much confidence as we did this trip all by ourselves.
More Ptown adventures to come.
PS the ratter was very successful at hunting vermin as we saw none the entire trip!
