Chalong
01 December 2017
We decided on another hearty breakfast to keep us going all day so a visit to Rosie's by 9. Poor Angus had not slept well waking up far too early. We cleared out of our rooms and moved everything back to the boat. I went ashore to do some shopping. With the phone number of the moto driver he came to the pier picked me up and returned me after the shopping -less than 20 minutes and back to the boat. Angus had hoped I was going to take some time and had hoped for a short lie down.
Went ashore to settle our accommodation account (they certainly don't appear before 10am). Alistair phoned to say he was at the end of the pier so back to the boat to get him unpacked and the familiarisation tour of the boat. We then went over to Alistair's boat to try and fix another leak that he had through a deck ventilation pipe. Then ashore to find Angus and get a beer at our friendly bar. A taxi ride to the Yacht club where there was a special dinner night with presentation of the racing prizes for the season. They had a wonderful Thai selection of food as well as roast beef, pork and chicken being carved. As always we ate too much but were delighted when Alistair won a bottle of Rum for his results in the series. It is now in the ships medicinal cabinet.
Fortunately no rain so the hatches were kept open for the first night of onboard living.
