Chalong

Nice day with some cloud cover but still strong North Easterly wind so not suitable for manoeuvring between the boats single handed. Decided to tackle - the sewing machine. Sandra tried to use it last season but it had jammed and would not move. When in Phnom Penh there was a street with dozens of shops repairing sewing machines. I had searched up and down until I found a shop with a similar very old Singer sewing machine and asked the owner to take all the covers off and show me how it worked. With this brief encounter I set to, to strip, clean and oil the sewing machine. Just to be on the safe side I had you tube running on my laptop. I had a good few hours getting it working but it would still not pick up the bottom thread and the top thread caught and jammed the machine. I am going to need some experienced help to get this tuned properly.
The generator for an hours charging can give enough charge for 2 days of battery use with the fridge at 6 degrees. David called over to say both his outboards were not working and they had a man coming to fit their new cushion covers. I called over to pick up David then ashore to get the man and covers. One outboard the fuel tank was leaking and the bolts holding it in place were well seized. The other outboard would start but stop when the throttle was opened up.
A beer ashore, a fried rice, and back to the boat.
