This is the SRzero and crew... They converted a race car over to electric motors and batteries. The plan is to drive 200-300 miles a day then rest for 8 hours while the batteries are recharged. They started in Fairbanks, Alaska and are heading South along the Pan-American Highway to Argentina!!!

Did I mention I recognized the film maker, Claudio Von Planta, in the Anchorage BMW dealership. He was looking for a biker to help out with documenting the SRzero's adventure and I just happened to be available.

I'm going thru some crazy coincidences lately! I was watching LONG WAY ROUND (look it up on YouTube) while I was working in the Philippines. I decided to check out the BMW motorcycles when I got back to the US and bought the DVD's LONG WAY ROUND and LONG WAY DOWN and started daydreaming of biking/sailing south! I couldn't believe the timing of all this!!!! Watch tv show, buy the DVD's, buy the BMW, ride to Alaska and just happen to meet the film maker in the parking lot in Anchorage and offered the grand adventure!!! JUST CRAZY!!

Only one hiccup, I got a phone call from my work two hours before meeting Claudio. I had already agreed to work in Hawaii for a week, so I had to race 1800 miles in three days to reach Tacoma! I decided that riding over 600 miles a day is NOT FUN!! My arrsss was soooooo sore!

I can't wait to get back and get the bike ready for the many many miles to Argentina and back!

Here's a few shots of prepping the boat for the long ride NORTH to Gig Harbor, Wa. It took about 5 hours to prep and load her up.

Here's a few shots of my 1985 28 foot Bristol Channel Cutter (BCC) built in Vancouver, BC. She's a full keel fiberglass hull with teak and mahogany wood throughout. She's powered by a Volvo 28hp diesel.

I had a great day learning how to sail my BCC. The learning curve was a little steeper than I had anticipated. The day ended pretty crappy... I couldn't get the engine out of gear and I plowed into the back side of a large powerboat in the slip next to me. OUCH!

This was the first day on board Junessa. I looked in every corner on board and climbed to the top of the mast! I had Chinese food and Corona Beer then feel asleep to some beautiful candle light and music.
