Good morning from chilly-rainy Gig Harbor.
No news is good news.... except for boat bloggers! I purchased a SEASON PASS of internet service in the Gig Harbor area, fully expecting to have been long gone during THE SEASON, well, I'm still here and my service is over. I'm going to try the library and coffee shop routine for the next week and see if I can live WITHOUT LIVE INTERNET on the boat. OHHH! the withdrawals are already setting in!
My last blog was highlighting my successful install of the water system. I guess I was a little premature on that claim.... I'm up to water system 2.0 and will be working on 2.1 this morning. The first version leaked big time!! I even used the teflon tape and didn't over tighten anything, but as soon as applied pressure.... pssssssss everywhere! My second version was working much better, however I found some other plastic fittings that would take out some splices. It sure was nice having running water yesterday morning for breakfast clean-up! So, when it's all said and done, I should have 70 gallons of filtered water available for the trip. I did end up destroying the manual sink pump, so I'll have to replace that asap. I wanted to go to a foot pump, because I always put the pump handle in my face as I look into the icebox. I'll move it later...
The stove/oven is working excellent! The engine is running great! The NAV equipment seems to be right on! I can deploy and retrieve my ground tackle! The only thing holding me back is.......
